“WILL YOU NOT REVIVE US AGAIN, SO THAT YOUR PEOPLE MAY REJOICE IN YOU?  SHOW US YOUR STEADFAST LOVE, O LORD, AND GRANT US YOUR SALVATION.”   Psalm 85:6-7

During this time of uncertainty about the future, we know with certainty that God is still in control.  St. John’s United Methodist Church is committed to making sure our ministries continue, though we will have to make some changes in how we do that for a while.  Starting Wednesday, March 18th through Saturday, April 4th, all of our regular Worship Services, Sunday School classes, Fellowship meals and other activities are on hold.

What we will have is a devotion by the pastor on our website and YouTube Channel each Sunday by 8:30 a.m.  The church sanctuary will be open for prayer on Sundays from 11 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.  We will also have a Facebook Prayer Group so you can continue to love on and pray for each other.  If you are in need of confidential prayers, please contact Pastor Darren (pastor@stjohnsumc.cc) or send an email to the Prayer Team (prayerteam@stjohnsumc.cc)  The office will be answering phones during regular operating hours.

We are asking everyone to help contact everyone.  Sunday School classes and small groups, please try to contact everyone in your group at least once a week.  Set up a phone tree if you do not already have one.  Keep in touch through emails or even an actual card or letter.  Our Youth and Children’s Departments already have plans in place to keep our young people involved.

Please remember, God is present.  We are not alone.  We will get through this.

Grace and Peace,

Pastor Darren

Welcome to St. John's United Methodist Church

Thank you for taking the time to visit with us.  I hope you were greeted warmly and received a blessing that stayed with you.  Our purpose is to Love God and Love Others.  We do this through our ministries to people outside the church walls as well as ministries to those within.

You are invited to join us as we seek to grow closer to God, grow in our faith and discipleship to Jesus and love and care for one another.  St. John’s is a place to ask questions and be fed (both physically and spiritually.)  We are not looking for people who just want to be busy; we are looking for and trying to be people who are involved in significant ways to make Georgetown and the world a better place through our sharing of the Love of Jesus.

Again, thank you for visiting us.

Grace and Peace,

Rev. Darren Walker
