Sunday Worship
Traditional: 8:30am & 11am - Sanctuary
Contemporary: 9:45am - Family Life Center

Welcome

Here at St. John's we accept you where you are, but we don't want you to stay there.  Our Youth Ministry is built around providing experiences for Youth of all ages where they can grow closer to other Christians and God.  We play games, eat together, go on mission trips, serve side by side, and encourage one another weekly.

Our weekly meetings are on both Sunday and Wednesday nights, in the EDGE.  The EDGE is located at 1103 Elm Street (across Elm from the main campus).  On Sundays we meet from 5:00-7:30pm for UMYF (United Methodist Youth Fellowship), split by age group.  From 5-6 we worship together in our Praise and Worship service - New Creation - in the FLC (big white building on campus), from 6-6:30 all ages eat and fellowship together, from 6:30-7 we play games together, and finally from 7-7:30 we split for age appropriate lessons.  On Wednesdays during the school year we have our Bible Study, split by grade level (Middle/High School) from 6:30-8pm.  This changes during the summer when we have fun nights from 6-8pm or day trips.

We would love to see you around!

Church Under the Bridge, Sunday, February 28

We are going to Austin on February 28 to feed the homeless  and distribute clothes and toiletries.  We need volunteers at the church for 7:30 a.m. to help assemble toiletry bags and separate clothing.  We also need toothpaste, socks, blankets, jackets and any kind of bags they can carry their stuff in.  We will be leaving the church at 8:30 to head down to Austin and will return in time for the 11:00 service.  Please prayerfully consider joining us for this incredible service to the children of God who need the most of our help and love.  You won't walk away unchanged. Church Under the Bridge is a division of Mission Possible, which is an organization that provides the homeless in Austin an opportunity to come to one central location on Sunday mornings to worship. There is a band and worship service, and various churches bring in food for the homeless on that day. It is located under the overpass of I35 between 7th and 8th Street. Youth in our church go to Austin once a month to provide food, toiletries and clothing to the homeless and we need your help.

We will be going back in January and are in need of recyclable tote bags, socks, any and all toiletries (especially razors, toothpaste and toothbrushes), winter coats, shoes, and blankets. We also need volunteers! Please prayerfully consider giving your time to this worthwhile cause and join us for our next rip in January. You won’t walk away unchanged!

Youth Happenings

The youth of St. John's have had a very busy summer.  They went on a Mission trip to Arlington, TX to build picnic tables for a special needs ministry, build several wheelchair ramps, repaired decking, cleaned up some overgrown yards and rebuilt a storage shed.  As you can see they had a busy week.  They have also been such a great help with all of the Summer Camps at the Church as well!  To say they have been a blessing is an understatement. We have several fun days coming up in August:
  • August 4th - This is our Fish City Grill Fundraiser!  Come and eat lunch, dinner or both and 15% of your entire bill will be going to help fund the mission and service projects of our youth activities.
  • August 5th - Messy Game Night at the Edge.
  • August 15th - Youth Trip to Six Flags.
  • August 17th-21st is Youth Rally Week.  A whole week of bowling, paintball, movies, and cookouts!  You don't want to miss this week!
We hope that you will put Sunday, October 18th on your calendar and plan to join us for Youth Sunday.  This is the day that our youth lead our worship services.  This promises to be something you won't want to miss! Our Senior High Sunday School teacher, Linda Gusnowski, needs your help.  She is looking for subs for her Senior High class for this fall.  We pray that you will consider helping her in making a difference in our youth's lives.  Her phone number is (512) 431-2500 or e-mail her at linda.callaway@firstsw.com.
